About Alainn Welsh

Alainn Welsh is about challenging the standard for pony beauty and behavior. It is a girl's dreams slowly coming true through hard work and patience. At this point, it consists of two mares, two foals, two geldings, and one crazy girl (Beth Nicholes) with a big support system of family.
Alainn is the Irish (Gaelic) word for 'beautiful'. It is pronounced 'ah - leen', or something close to that.
The very beginning of Alainn Welsh was in 2013, when Beth picked up a two year old Welsh filly. She trained the little filly, had a blast doing it, and sold her in the spring of 2014 to her forever home. This filly (in Beth's opinion) was an example of careless breeding. Her dam had a genetic club foot, and the filly had it too. This pony inspired in Beth a desire to create beautiful, quality, well-trained ponies - be the anti-thesis for unattractive ponies with what is called "pony attitude". After the filly was sold, Beth began watching the market for her first broodmare. In the spring of 2016, she found her. Mt. Ridge Latte was purchased from Clanfair Welsh Ponies. Latte arrived in foal to *Mynach Master Class, and Alainn Lomhara was born on March 22nd, 2017. Latte was bred to Glenhaven Amadeus for 2018. Deora was foaled at 12:09 a.m. on April 6, 2018. Over the years, Beth has continued to buy and train ponies. Often afterward, they are sold to families where they are used, loved, and happy.
This little breeding farm is prospering slowly but surely.
